What's MOTH?

MOTH is an annual linguistics workshop dedicated to syntax research. For its 8th run, McMaster University is hosting. It is an informal workshop aimed to bring together graduate students that want to present their ongoing work on syntax and its interfaces.

Get Feedback

MOTH is a space for students to share ideas and get feedback on their research.

Use this event to present your ongoing projects and research. Get new perspectives from peers and meet other linguists like you!

Virtual Hosting

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the MOTH conference will be hosted via virtual web conference.

Zoom links will be sent out to individuals upon registration.

Guest Speaker

This year's invited speaker is Dr. Éric Mathieu (U of Ottawa).

Over the years, his research topics have comprised noun phrase structure, wh movement & wh-in-situ, the mass/count distinction and more. French and Ojibwe are his languages of interest.
